They say, ‘Marriages are made in heaven’ but that heaven is a mere concept until the wedding theme gives it wings of reality. The very thought of weddings may stir several ideas in one’s mind, the most conventional being huge chandeliers, massive ballrooms, floral arrangements, perfectly draped linens, elaborate venues, and just everything grand and opulent. Doesn’t all this sound repetitive and boring? From one wedding to another, there is hardly anything experimental or personalized.
We want to make weddings not just ‘theme’ driven but give them a touch of individuality blended with elements of raw texture curated by us to give a suave appeal. The eclectic mix of antique furniture, hard metals, and distressed surfaces is an invitation to contemporary sophistication. The amalgamation of a romantic setup amidst gritty industrial background is sure to leave everyone hypnotized by its rustic charms.
To replicate the idea flawlessly a warehouse store was chosen as an ideal location for the shoot. Industrial Chic Indian Wedding plays with the essence of browns and tans, bringing out the intrinsic detailing in the most precise manner. ‘Copper’ is the new gold in contemporary weddings, the shiny brassy feeling gives it an ethnic touch along with being extremely urbane and catchy and therefore we decided to use copper vases as our center piece for our table setup. It was mandatory to skip the boring linens and let the tables reflect their own exquisiteness and complement the theme. Flowers are elements that can’t be overlooked and we harmonized the floral décor with grey backdrop by using pastel shades like mint green, blush pink, ivory white, and snow white. A bride is a showstopper at every wedding, we chose to highlight our bride by using a red velvet top along with a metallic makeup, this enhances the bride’s overall persona, making her look stunning and conspicuous. Photographs are a lifelong memory and we closely paid attention to perfecting the corrugated backdrops, abandoned buildings, and alleys…it just adds the vintage magical look to every portrait clicked, a photographer’s ideal setup for candid takes and timeless captures.
Industrial Chic Weddings have been quite popular in western countries and wedding planners have emphasized on making these weddings look larger than life using creative ideas and finishing the look with antiques and minimalism. Indian weddings are known to be lavish, mostly theme driven and battling to be extraordinary. We want to rope in this idea for Indian Weddings and make weddings not just an event but a memorable fiesta which will be nostalgic for not just the bride and the groom but all the guests. After all, if there is a theme it should be ‘chic’ not just random.
