STB’s delegation led by the Manager of STB Office in Dubai, Ahmed Fathallah and STB Headquarters’ Senior Marketing Executive, Natacha Servina. They were joined by representatives of several local partners: Air Seychelles, Banyan Tree Seychelles, Constance Hotels & Resorts, Eden Bleu Hotel, Luxury Travel, MAIA Luxury Resort and Spa, Six Senses Zil Pasyon, The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach Seychelles, and Vision Voyages.

A great turnout was recorded throughout the roadshow, with some 40 to 50 agents in attendance in each city. The roadshow saw the participation of a mix of agents, working with both the leisure and Meetings Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) segments.

Hosted in centrally located venues in each city, the agents were also hosted to a dinner which allowed more time for them to network with the STB representatives and local partners. The evenings ended with raffle draw with prizes, where winner/s won a trip to Seychelles with accommodation and excursions offered by the partners.

The GCC Roadshow has become an annual staple to the STB Office in Dubai as it is a perfect venue to strengthen the relationship among the trade partners in the region as well as pave the way for future profitable collaborations of the partners with the local hotels, DMCs, and airline from Seychelles.
The STB Office in Dubai described this year’s GCC Roadshow a success, “We are very happy with the event results and it will not be possible without the support of our partners. We believe that this roadshow is a good way for us to fortify our relationship with the trade sector hence roadshows and trainings will continuously be included in our activity pipeline in the coming years.” says Fathallah.

Critically acclaimed fashion brand AMATO has unveiled his latest limited edition 10-piece bridal collection titled ‘HOLY KNIGHT’ last 6th October at a widely applauded show at Waterfront Hotel Cebu. Furne Amato’s 2019 limited edition bridal collection for AMATO was an ode to womanhood and its milestones, emotions and battles: “Warrior Princesses, Armour of Strength, The Risks of Passion and Pure Vulnerablity”, explains the Dubai-based designer.

The main show of Weddings at Waterfront, Furne Amato’s creations were set against a clean black landscape partially decorated with white blooms at the backdrop.
True to style, the collection was at once fierce and delicate, deftly employing the house’s characteristic sharp tailoring and haunting elegance to dramatic effect. This season, pagan references, medieval silhouettes, dense ruffles, and pearl embroideries came together in a provocative, but empowering way, highlighting both the strength of women and the importance of vulnerability and emotion. Take the jute sack pieces – used as dresses train, inspired by a medieval bride – which were matched with knitted lace dresses: hard and soft in perfect matrimony.
Here, Furne Amato shares a rare insight into of one of his favorite looks of the season and reveals the couture levels of craftsmanship that went into it.

On the mood board
Furne Amato was inspired by the 18th-century medieval-style renaissance princesses. The portraits of women featured on the limited edition bridal collection 2019 mood board and atmospheric techniques inspired the approach and design of the dresses which became the basis of the collection.

The fitting process
Taking up to three months, the fitting process is exacting work. The intricate creative process begins in Dubai, where embroideries are pinned and fitted perfectly to the dress toile. Then hand-crafted and hand sewn and fitted in the Dubai atelier ahead of the show.

The finished look on the runway
The overly puffed shoulder with ruffles and laced neckline and full skirt with front slit accented with DIAGOLD jewels takes to open the runway show.

The Pink Legacy has been awarded the highest diamond color grading of VIVID by the Gemological Institute of America. Vivid coloured diamonds are the most strongly saturated gems, displaying the optimum hue of the stone. It is a classic rectangular cut diamond, a cut that is traditionally used for white stones, and weighs an extraordinary 18.96 carats when most pink diamonds of this colour weigh less than a carat. The Pink Legacy is also internally very pure which is extremely rare in pink diamonds where the colour is formed by pressure and slippage of the crystal lattice which typically causes imperfections in the stone.

In addition, it classifies as a Type IIa diamond, which contains little if any nitrogen and accounts for less than two percent of all gem diamonds. Type IIA stones are some of the most chemically pure diamonds, often with exceptional transparency and brilliance. One of the most celebrated pink diamonds is the “Williamson” found in the Williamson mine situated near Tanzania in 1947. It was gifted as a wedding present by Dr. John Williamson, the owner of the mine, to the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth.

In the saleroom fancy vivid pink diamonds over ten carats are virtually unheard of and only four vivid pink diamonds of over ten carats have ever been offered for sale at auction. An historic level was reached in the international diamond market in November 2017 when Christie’s Hong Kong sold ‘The Pink Promise’, an oval-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond of just under fifteen carats for US$32,480,500 (U$2,175,519 per carat), which established and remains the world auction record price per carat for any pink diamond.
